On Wednesday, October 19th, Lambda Legal hosted Cocktails for Equality (NOLA), a reception to honor the progress made towards Equality for all people. We are excited and grateful for the tremendous honor of having received the 2016 Partners for Equality Award!
Lambda Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
From the Press Release:
Avita Pharmacy received the corporation Partners for Equality award in recognition of its long support for Lambda Legal and the LGBT community in the New Orleans area. Avita is a supporter of many causes, including Project Lazarus, Halloween New Orleans and the NO/AIDs Task Force.
“… Avita Pharmacy has a name that has become virtually synonymous with support of and commitment to the LGBTQ community in New Orleans,” Poindexter said.
Avita is dedicated to treating its employees, patients, and partners with respect and dignity without discrimination based on color, religion, sex, gender, creed, ethnicity or nationality and was founded with the commitment to the LGBT community in both New Orleans and in the other communities we serve. We look forward to working alongside organizations like Lambda Legal as we continue the fight towards equality for all people.
