Avita Earns Perfect Score for LGBTQ+ Workplace Equality—Again

For a second year, Avita has earned 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Quality Index. Here’s what that means —and why it matters.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation has awarded Avita Pharmacy a perfect score on its 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

The report—which serves as the nation’s preeminent benchmarking survey measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality—rates companies on detailed criteria supporting four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
  • Supporting an inclusive culture
  • Corporate social responsibility

Avita: A best place to work for LGBTQ+ equality

Avita’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria earned us a 100 percent ranking and designation as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.” This is the second year in a row that Avita has been recognized with this honor, and we’re one of only a few national pharmacy services organizations to receive a perfect score.

“Ensuring members of the LGBTQ+ community always feel welcomed, included, and heard—whether they’re teammates, patients, or partners—is one of Avita’s cultural touchstones,” says Avita CEO Michael Yount. “Let’s be clear: Achieving this designation would not have been possible without the dedication Avita Team members have shown toward respectfully treating people as unique individuals and ingraining compassion, collaboration, and resourcefulness into everything they do.”

Congratulations to Avita Pharmacy for achieving the title of 'best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality' and working to advance inclusion in the workplace.

What the CEI Report is all about

The HRC’s full report includes a wealth of insights into how corporations in the United States and globally are facilitating workplace policies, procedures, and benefits designed to promoted equality for LGBTQ+ employees. Just a sampling:

  • 1,271 companies participated in the 2022 CEI Survey
  • 842 businesses earned the distinction of being named a “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” by earning a perfect score
  • Only 258 of the Fortune-500 Ranked businesses earned a perfect score on the index

Ensuring LGBTQ+ team members always feel welcomed, included, and heard

With more than 600 employees across the United States, the Avita Pharmacy team is dedicated to helping patients unlock a healthier life through individually focused care and helping covered entity partners unlock the full potential of their businesses. Ensuring our team members from the LGBTQ+ community always feel welcomed, included, and heard is one of Avita’s cultural touchstones.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, HRC’s Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training. “Congratulations to Avita Pharmacy for achieving the title of ‘best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality’ and working to advance inclusion in the workplace.”
